What this site is, and what it isn't

McLennan County Mold Remediation is a referral service. We connect property owners in Waco and the surrounding county with independent mold contractors working in Central Texas. We do not inspect, test, or remediate anything ourselves, and we never will under this name.

Why we say that so plainly

Most mold websites in a market this size are built to look like a large local operation with decades of history and a warehouse full of equipment. Plenty of them are one person with a truck and a subcontractor list, and some of them are pure lead brokers who never say so.

We'd rather be the boring, honest version. You call, we take your details, we hand them to a mold contractor who works your area, and they call you. Whether you hire them is entirely between you and them. We don't sit in on the quote, we don't set the price, and we don't take a cut of your job.

What we don't claim

There is no license number on this site, no insurance badge, no year we were founded, no count of jobs completed, and no reviews. That isn't modesty — it's accuracy. Those claims belong to a specific company with specific credentials, and any contractor's credentials are theirs to state and yours to verify.

Texas makes verification easy. The Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation licenses mold assessment and mold remediation separately, and every license is publicly searchable. Before you sign anything with any mold company in Waco, look them up. It takes a minute.

What we do know

We've put real work into understanding why McLennan County houses grow mold, because a lot of what's published about mold is written for the Gulf Coast and simply doesn't describe this place. Waco is not Houston. It's Blackland Prairie — deep expansive clay, roughly 34 inches of rain a year concentrated in spring and fall, hot dry summers that shrink the ground away from foundations, and a plumbing failure rate under slabs that follows directly from all of it.

The Texas rules matter here

Texas is one of a minority of states that actually licenses mold work, with separate licenses for assessment and remediation and a deliberate structural separation between the two. Most sites don't explain it because explaining it makes the sales process harder. What we look for before we pass anything along

A referral is only worth something if the person on the other end is worth calling. The things that get somebody removed from our list are simple and non-negotiable: not calling people back, quoting over the phone without looking, pressuring somebody into a decision the same afternoon, or being unwilling to state and support their licensing when a job is regulated work.

We also pay attention to whether a contractor is willing to say no. The best answer to a lot of mold calls is "that's a bathroom ventilation problem, here's what to do, you don't need me." A company that never reaches that conclusion is a company that finds a project in every house.

Why we don't publish reviews

Because we haven't earned any under this name, and inventing them is the sort of thing that makes the whole trade harder to trust. When a contractor is attached to this site long-term and there are real Waco customers with real experiences to point to, that will change and we'll say so plainly. Until then, the honest answer is that we're an introduction service and the reputation that matters is the contractor's, not ours.
